Robert J. Zieve, MD



INTEGRATIVE AND NATURAL MEDICINE

 

Author of the book Healthy Medicine: A Guide to the Emergence of Sensible, Comprehensive Care, his new book, Beyond the Medical Meltdown: Creating Sustainable Health Care, and his first book, Rhythms In Time: The Homeopathic Future, Dr. Zieve is a highly trained practitioner of comprehensive integrative medicine, with a wide background in the field.

Dr. Zieve graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1973, where he was instrumental in setting up one of the first community programs in the nation for evaluating children for lead poisoning. After graduation he trained in homeopathy and completed a two-year physician training course in anthroposophical medicine, another form of natural medicine. He studied for five years with Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt of the American Academy of Neural Therapy. And he completed a two-year training course with The Biological Medicine Foundation under Dr. Thomas Rau and has studied with Dr. Rau at Paracelsus Klinik in Switzerland. Dr. Zieve has also worked as a board-certified specialist in emergency medicine for more than 20 years and has been an emergency department director.

Dr. Zieve combines and integrates homeopathy, biological medicine, neural therapy, acupuncture point therapies, nutrition and intravenous therapies, oxygen therapies, and heavy metal detoxification. He is also trained and experienced in the use of high-frequency, low-dose chemotherapy for cancer treatment.

Dr. Zieve's practice also includes energy medicine in several forms, including color ear therapy, laser and infrared treatments, as well as associate practitioners who use microcurrent therapies, color and eye movement therapies, and emotional freedom techniques, as well as other psycho-emotional release work to resolve illness. He is medical director of Pine Tree Clinic for Comprehensive Medicine in Prescott, AZ

Dr. Zieve has lectured and taught widely throughout the United States for more than 20 years, at the university level as well as at physician education forums, including teaching at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe. He was president of the Arizona Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association for two terms from 1998 to 2000.

Dr. Zieve is the president of the Center for Healthy Medicine, Inc., an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which is a collaborative effort of physicians, other professionals, and lay people nationally, that is developing new strategies or effective and affordable health care (www.healthymedicine.org).
